The World s Ideal Position - 1405 Words

Earth’s ideal position in the solar system (ideal being not too close to nor too far from the sun) results in its ability to support species of all types brought on by speciation. These species often live together in communities because communities provide support, structure, and protection for the corresponding organisms. Humanity took communities one step further by living together in lawful, well-structured communities called societies. Nevertheless, societal problems – a byproduct of society – emerged, which affect the whole community. One major societal problem of humanity pertains to the neglectful upbringing and nurturing of children by unprepared or unqualified parents. Many people believe that the answer to this problem lies in pre-parental testing/screening in order to determine if the parents possess the mental, genetic, and financial capabilities of raising a child properly. By instating this solution, a society must prohibit individuals from reproduc ing based on the pre-parental screening results. This act of prohibition assumes the most pertinent role in the failure of the solution for two reasons: First, prohibition is a futile effort and leads to lawlessness; and secondly, this form of prohibition lacks an ethical structural system of enforcement. This paper critiques the negative aspects and impacts of prohibition as a means of exemplifying the impracticality of this solution.
